I’ll start with what I like then talk about the flaws. Gameplay? Fantastic. Everything else? Absolute garbage. I’m not even sure what they actually did all this time. This is straight out of Earth’s worst fable. For each thing you gained going from Overwatch 1 to Overwatch 2, you’d lose out on 10 things that got outright removed or paywalled. All these quality of life changes? Gone. Basic features like LFG or post game voting? Gone. Any form of progression included with the game? Gone. I’m going to go ahead and reiterate that last part. There is zero progression now except for their predatory Jeffrey Dahmer battle pass that is there to milk you for money. Free content that was unlockable through playing is now pay walled, or you can grind for 10 straight months to get something that was free 6 years ago. If you aren’t willing to fork out money, there is NO PROGRESSION. No levels. No. Levels. You buy the pass and progress there, or that’s it. No progress. Their store system is such a joke I thought I was lucid dreaming when I first looked at it. I don’t know what mastermind Inception’d Blizzards management to think they found a hit, but they clearly misled an entire company. (I don’t fault the devs, I’m sure management is running like a well oiled coffin.) This game has so much potential but whoever is making these decisions at the top are so out of touch with their player base it’s embarassing. Zero quality. Blizzard just wants to price gouge.
