I enjoyed watching this movie and liked the way it captured the period and made it relevant to modern times. Progress and those who profit from it justify the pain and suffering they inflict on their victims by claiming some invisible moral imperative. In reality it is just the pursuit of greed and satisfaction of an insatiable ego to hide their insecurity. The writing, acting and setting all contribute their piece to make the movie whole. While some may claim the film is slow and hard to follow, having to pay close attention and stick with it are more a reflection of today’s instant gratification and hit me over the head violence than a valid criticism of a film made for adults who appreciate better.
