I can’t understand why this book has so many good reviews! The plot of based off a terrible premise of the main characters meeting up for a weekend every year to have an affair. There is no real reason ever given that they can’t just be together, then the woman dies in the end. I pushed through this thinking it must get better since there are so many good reviews, but it simply doesn’t. Just a recounting of what happens in their lives in and around each meetup. What was the point?
