I tried to like this... I love the original film and I like most of Waititi's previous work but this is unwatchable. Two stars for the amazing sets of ancient sites and the young actor Kevin, but other than that the acting is terrible, the jokes flat and the story non-existent. Huge disappointment

This is a film about the importance of imagination and allowing yourself to keep dreaming, and its terrible special-effects only drive its message home more. Look past what's external and factual and allow yourself to be taken away to Fantasia. Those who complain about the imaginary beings being unbelievable are obviously missing the point of the story, our perception creates reality! If you decide they are unbelievable/ridiculous/corny - they are. If you choose to be inspired - you will be. Will the imaginative child in you win or the logical, critical adult? The choice is yours. The story is simplistic and the acting could be better but overall this is an amazing film that, if you allow it, will deeply move and inspire you

I adore Jim Jarmush and I'm a die hard fan of majority of the cast, so it pains me to say that the Dead dDon't Die is perfectly forgettable... Even if you love director's style and sense of humour you are likely to struggle to enjoy this one. Saying that I'll probably try and watch it again just to make sure, because some of his films grow on you slowly and the cast is simply glorious... But right now even three stars feel generous
