TikTok and the media tells you not to like this movie, and just bashes it. The actress that played Marilyn Monroe at first I thought I wasn’t going to like her. Though in fact she plays her very well. People want to complain that the movies dark and dreary but that’s how Marilyn Monroe‘s life was. You expect another Elvis movie where it’s super entertaining with bright colors but that’s not how her life was. She had a very hard and tragic life. I think the director displayed this very well in this film. In the past you were just an object and you could not say no one men wanted to use you . There was many parts in the film that made me cry. if you’re also complaining about it not being 100% accurate it’s a movie it’s going to be portrayed as a fictional movie, it’s not a documentary. Not only that but we don’t know 100% what happened to her or how bad it was for her. Everyone wants to keep saying this is a good movie for people that didn’t know Marilyn Monroe. Even in the bio of the movie it says that it’s a fictional portrait of her Private life. You can’t start to depict how hard it was for her, no one can. This gets into the dark and dreary . You see her as the damaged abused child that was abused and mingled during even her adult life .of coursed it’s going to be acted out in a way that might be fictional because we don’t know exactly what when on in her home. It’s a work of art to attempt and depict . People don’t like that it’s not a woke diverse movie. This is displaying the era she grew up in and how women were treated back then. So if you’re not okay with having a glimpse in the past, then don’t watch this movie. Peoples lives in the past were hard especially in that generation.It wasn’t pretty or the glamorous charming Norma Jean you think you know. If that makes you feel uncomfortable this might not be the movie for you.
