If the movie isn't supposed be about the book then why is the title from the book. The characters names are from the book. That is why I was upset. The cast is fine Jordan especially carries the movie. I understand certain liberties like maybe modernization of era. The books storyline carries every generation since the 60's. The spin offs could have gone on for a very long time. I also believe it should have been done in 8-10 parts which also would set up Mr. Clark for many more adventures.
