Following the Nolan films with a solid Batman film is no small feat. This movie pays homage to some of the older comics and also captures the characters and personalities of the Gotham City. It's gritty and unapologetic. Batman was also written in the timeline of the early-mid 20th century, which this movie elegantly blends into more modern elements.
