I knew nothing about this 2016 "Mad Dogs" series before I purchased it at JB Hi-Fi, I just read the details on the back of the DVD case and it appealed to me, so when I finally got around to watching it my expectations were not too high and I thought that maybe I had bought a dud series. A pleasant surprise, it turned out to be a very interesting story, the actors were all very good and they were an interesting mix together in this plot, I found it intriguing as it was never predictable and took many unexpected turns along their journey. My wife who is always hard to please with movies would ask me to put the next episode of "Mad Dogs" on even when I was going to watch another movie, so we watched the whole first season over a couple of weeks, it's a shame that more people were not aware of this series as I'm sure that it would have had a good following. To sum up the "Mad Dogs" 2016 series, I would say that first of all it's a shame that there was not a second season, wonderful acting from all, original and unpredictable story, nicely filmed and no shaky handheld cameras which I hate, rich colour especially the outdoor scenes and interesting locations, also if you have good speakers and a sub-woofer you will enjoy and feel the sound effects throughout this series. I should mention for those who don't know, that there is also a British 2011 series called "Mad Dogs" which I believe is also good, but I can't compare as I have not seen that British version of "Mad Dogs" as yet.

I bought this movie many years ago on a VHS cassette, unfortunately, it was stolen, so I always intended to purchase it again and when I found it on eBay for a reasonable price I did, it is a great film with an original story and great actors. Without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it I'll just say that it's a movie that holds your attention from beginning to end, it draws you in and is an emotional roller coaster ride, never boring and at the end, you feel like you have been through an amazing experience, a must-have for the discerning movie collector and holds up to repeat viewings.

Wonderful true story about a private and underfunded individual motorcycle enthusiast in New Zealand, who never gave up on his dream to set a world speed record against all odds, as you would expect a great acting performance by Sir Anthony Hopkins, the movie itself is very entertaining with humour, drama, wonderful cinematography, locations and re-creates the period in time accurately. I highly recommend this movie, it will appeal to anybody not just motorcycle enthusiasts, stands up to multiple viewings and a worthy addition to any film collectors library.

''Tucker: The Man and His Dream'' is a fascinating true story of a man with new technological/mechanical ideas, which would revolutionise and advance the auto industry making improvements most of which would eventually be copied by all motor vehicle makers around the world. Many of the features of the car that we take for granted today were implemented into modern vehicles because of the progressive imagination of Tucker and his team of mechanical engineers. The movie itself is a thoroughly enjoyable experience that can support multiple views and the actors are very believable in the roles that they play, Jeff Bridges gives a stellar performance as the futuristic car designer Preston Tucker. Also of note is that this movie was directed by Francis Ford Coppola which would explain the Higher than usual quality of this bio/drama film.

An entertaining movie set during the 1940s, with a good cast who play their parts very well, the storyline is based on fact and covers the development and testing of secret projects and advanced rockets and the devastation they caused around Southern UK and London. There is also a small part in this movie showing the involvement of the amazing test pilot and aviator Hanna Reitsch, which would make for an interesting movie in itself.

I remember seeing this movie "The Bang Bang Club" many years ago and finding it very enlightening, especially as it made me realise the dangers and risks that some photojournalists take in their chosen career to make a living for themselves, that is what this movie is generally about. It is also a true story about four men who often worked together as a team in South Africa and became known as The Bang Bang Club, two of these members become quite famous and are awarded the coveted Pulitzer prize for photos that are published around the world. The actors are all believable with their performances in this film, particularly the two main characters played by Ryan Phillippe and Taylor Kitsch, it's a fascinating movie that holds your attention throughout, well worth adding to your collection as it can sustain multiple viewings.
