There is tons of psychology behind this movie and its definitely not for everyone.
It shows the reality of being a woman - what is expected from us, and how much society puts pressure on the beauty standards, while fat, white man are the one that are judging and create these standards.
At the end, when the "monster" puts the jewelry on and curls her hair, shows that regardless of how we look and feel, we still have to look representable and pretty. That is why at the end on the stage, Sue says: "But it's still me"... even tho her body appearance changed, her soul stayed the same.
I am surprised some women didn't get the movie and they are fixated over little things.
I think this is a great movie for men to watch, so they can understand a little bit how it feels to be a woman.
