I just came back from it. And woah.
This was a crazy, amazing, powerful eleven year journey but boy was it worth the wait.
Nothing I’ve ever seen compares to this movie. In reality this movie didn’t start production two years ago, it started eleven years ago. Every line, every interaction, every moment meant something. Everyone laughed or cried or clapped or all three. It had its Flaws, no movie can be perfect but goddamit this one is right next to it. For those three hours, the audiences weren’t just watching something, they were part of something. The credits rolled and the only sound in the theater was the glorifying sound of people cheering and applauding in appreciation.
This is the best movie of the year so far. For me it is possibly one of the best movies ever. Even if it doesn’t get the expected reactions, it won’t be the worst thing. It gave me an experience that I’m saddened to say, I will probably never have again and that experience is worth more to me than any title this movie will receive.
Part of the journey is this ending. And it was beautiful.
So thank you to the Russo Brothers. Thank you to Kevin Feige. Thank you Robert Downey Jr. Thanks to everyone who ever spent a second working on these movies. It was worth it, I promise you.
Just thank you.
In the end, Marvel was never about flashy action scenes or superheroes; it was about perfectly imperfect superheroes; superheroes are flawed, but their performances are flawless; it was about the power and bond between people standing together. And once again Fans, you have proved this power and bond to be true.
So thank you for making an amazing thing even better.
