Like most of the reviewers, I too have read all the previous Reacher books. To me the main attraction of Reacher is he's smarter than his adviseries and doesn't need a gun to outsmart them. This book presents an entirely different Reacher (unrecognizable to his fans) and is a MAJOR disappointment. Also agree with most that Cruise is terrible type cast and movies give Reacher qualities (terrific driver of automobiles) early Reacher books pointed out he didn't possess (Jack didn't drive well). One of my two favorite characters (other is Harry Bosch) appear to be gone but not forgotten
