Much better than I expected after watching IF (with Ryan Reynolds failing to be a genuine feeling character), this was actually decent and enjoyable. Levi brings a very authentic child-like wonder to his roles without being sarcastic a**holes like others seem to be. I never read the book but knew the premise but this helped by going over that in the beginning. It stands on its own, has a good range of humor for a "kids movie", and went far beyond my expectations since these movies have been greatly unlikable in the past (Blue Clues and Tom and Jerry come to mind. There are more but I'd rather not. They all suck and I couldn't finish. Dora live action was surprisingly good tho lol)
P.s. Let it be known, all is watched high so if I still couldn't enjoy it, that's pretty bad. This was a genuine "laugh out loud" film and I would watch it again. Beat the sh*t out of IF.
