Loyal. Brave. True. I was nervous to see how Disney’s live action version would be like since I learned the Legend of Hua Mu Lan in 3rd grade bilingual class. The animated version of Mulan was a bit insulting with the silly hyperactive dragon called Mushu in it. I really liked this movie as there were so many great character moments for young girls. My daughter was excited and appreciative to see an Asian female warrior with incredible martial arts skills. The cinematography and colors were breathtaking. Also very cool to see an all star Asian cast. Loved the soundtrack with a mandarin version of “Reflection” sung by the lead actress and “Loyal Brave True” by Christina Aguilera was incredible. Downloading on iTunes! Overall, I am glad we spent the $29.99 to watch for family movie night and watch it again anytime we want. Theater tickets would have costed us about $60 without the snacks! For all those who have Disney+ but don’t want to pay the Premiere Access charge, this will be available in December for free. We just didn’t want to wait that long!
