Well I would probably give it 3.5 but it’s 3 or 4 and while it’s a fun movie, it’s not a great movie so I can’t give it 4 stars. It’s worth spending a weeknight watching it but I would be disappointed if I paid movie theaters prices to see it.
There are a lot of holes in the movie. It starts with a lot of promise but it seems like the film makers got stuck and decided to ignore holes and go with tried and true movie tropes like villain soldiers attacking the hero one by one, the hero is suddenly a Jedi ninja, villains soliloquize, forces of physics act differently in order to help the hero.
A plot hole here and there are ok but the last 30 minutes are packed with them because the movie needed to be over.
But for all the bad, the movie is still an entertaining action flick. Ryan Reynolds is his smarty mouth hero best. Jennifer Garner is charming as always, Garofolo is his usual arrogant know it all genius character, Walker Scobell is believable as a young Ryan Reynolds.
