I have all the books, but haven't read them yet, so I hope this extremely disappointing movie didn't spoil what I hope are good books. The computer graphics, especially the world-building, are beautiful. The action special effects are not bad, but they're not great. The story is vapid. The acting is either colorless or over-the-top. The character development is non-existent. Look at the length of the movie: ninety minutes. When you're building a brand new world, what kind of story can you present in 90 minutes? The script is pathetic. The director is overly-impressed with his own reputation. Disney screws up yet another valuable property.
