I've seen this film at least 10 times. First, the attention to detail to sets etc is brilliant and a thing of wonder in itself. Second, it is brilliantly funny, rude, crude and irreverent. Some people criticise that, I find it bloody hilarious! It's not surprising that it didn't win an Oscar considering how it crucifies Hollywood but it should have. I wonder if Matt Damon "Maaattt Daaamon" likes it, or loathes it?

My daughters bought me series 1 of the office on DVD when it first came out and I couldn't bring myself to tell them that I wasn't a fan. It was too difficult to watch due to the excruciating embarrassment in some of the scenes. Anyway months later while off work with flu I watched the whole series and 'got it. I've been a fan of Ricky ever since. However, I'm now watching After Life. It's hard to watch but I have to say it's the finest work I've ever seen from Ricky and anyone on the planet who's ever tried to portray grief with humour and sadness in equal measure. I imagine it was not easy to get the script past the nobs that have been creating monumentally mediocre programs in recent years. Anyway I'm hooked. Thanks Ricky you have talent and balls in equal measure.

This is simply one of the best things I've ever seen on TV and I've only seen the first three! The filming and acting are superb and I'm complete mesmerised by the story especially as it's based on true events. This is not for the fault hearted as they've obviously tried to keep everything as authentic as possible. A good deal of my degree is based on Radiation production, reduction and protection so the levels discussed in the programme are mind blowing and bloody scary. I'm totally hooked.

Just watch it. It's a bloody brilliant story of Ray Shoesmith a low level hitman who juggles his criminal profession with his normal life of caring for his brother, bringing up his daughter and socialising with his friends. The writing and acting are a breath of fresh air compared to our current spew of over thinking and poor script work from major media. I finished the last episode today and I'm going to start rewatching it from the start tomorrow.
