Quite an extraordinary book in multiple ways. Above all, the author is able to manage and guide many moving pieces without ever losing touch with the whole. And along with the very compelling mystery that evolves, Ms. Gutierrez deftly pulls the reader into the feelings and intertwined relationships that are totally believable and common to all of us. And, finally, I couldn’t help wanting a friend to read it quickly so that we could have a discussion about the “why’s” and different ethical issues that emerge. The words flow nicely; this author can write! I hope the book gets even greater exposure. I am a clinical psychologist (retired) and I kept thinking, “now this story is an exciting journey into the way real-life decisions are made.”

Found the premise intriguing, but too many clichés and soap opera dialogue kept it from being a good mystery work. BUT..... the most unforgivable sin by this author was never re-visiting or explaining away Claire’s seeing Eva and the pink sweater during the video news report after the crash. That omission, in my opinion, makes the ending totally unsatisfying. It is a thread that should have been resolved. As a reader, I felt manipulated by the author.
