I really struggled to finish this book. The male lead was not likable at all. He had no depth. And the way he spoke about himself was so cringy and the way he spoke about Ava seemed controlling and abusive. He was a complete turnoff. The smutty scenes were awful and I had to skip through them. I also listened to the audiobook, which switches from a female for Ava’s perspective and a male for Alex’s. But, when the female reads for Alex’s lines, her voice for him is terrible. It’s like he’s whisper growling through the whole book which really adds to all the red flags of the character and makes me not like him even more. One star for the book, and I won’t be reading the remainder of the series as most say this was the best one.
