I read this book when it first came out, during a time I was really searching for answers. I had been to several services where people claimed to be healed. As a believer in God, and an avid reader of the Bible, I believe wholeheartedly in miracles.
But what about the Osborne's and the Kuhlman's? Were they truly performing miracles? The Dutch offshoot of an Osborne visit to the Netherlands claimed to heal people, miraculously. One of his staff members had been deaf since birth - and no amount of hands laid on, or anointments with oil, healed the man from his deafness. His response? "I do not have enough faith..."
Nolen's book helped me understand that "methods" used by the 'faith halers...' and gave me a new way to look at their claims.
