When I first watched this show, I carefully examined the structural objectives that shaped much of its significance as it relates to different genres of music. However, after my 4th week I could not help to notice that this show is a poor reflection not only of the musical arts but also of the diversity that cultivates the essence of pop- American subculture. Further, Music is a direct reflection of the social, political, and cultural conditions of society that potentially not only unifies people but also interweaves the beauty of our differences and similarities as human beings. Yet, this show is contrary to the aforementioned perspectives. Additionally, it fails in its attempts to tap into the skillful innovations of different ethic and cultural groups. What is more, the show magnifies Euro-American music, which to this extent does not reflect the cultural aesthetics that shaped and influences our understanding of what music is truly supposed to be!!!
