Upon first listen I was a little let down by this album, but when I came back again and again it REALLY grew on me. After a few days a few songs really began to stand out to me;
You Must Burn! - A headbanger that seems related to both Sad But True and Harvester of Sorrow, with a brilliant riff at the end. Slow paced and "stompy".
Room Of Mirrors - The ending really makes this song with one of their best harmonies ever, really makes you realise why you love Metallica.
Sleepwalk My Life Away - This is a proper Black Album era style thrasher, kind of a bit like Holier Than Thou.
Inamorata - The epic closer that fits perfectly in a trilogy with Outlaw Torn and Fixxxer. The riffs here are very sludgy and load/reload, but with (to me) a hint of Gehanna (Slipknot). The second half of this song has a beautiful harmony solo reminiscent of My Friend Of Misery and Kirk's best and for sure most fitting solo of the record. 11 mins flies by!
4/5 - a grower of an album, and if you didn't love it on first passing - GO BACK AND LISTEN AGAIN!!
