Close to masterpiece. Just one tiny detail spoilt the perfection - when Sonny beat up his sister's husband, it was filmed too close and one punch clearly missed by a lot, yet the husband reacted to that punch. Shame that such a tiny, yet standout error, was left in this great film...

One of my all time favourites of this genre. Really excellent atmosphere created by all involved. Has some very touching moments and subtle humor… if you love 19th century adventure escapism, this film has it all…
