This game feels completely disjointed from the assassins creed story and tries to play with the nature of what is defined as combat in the series. While interesting to change things occasionally, you will simply be button smashing which lacks thought, strategy, finesse and becomes boring quickly. The one aspect to the combat I did like was they added a highlighted area on an enemy that when shot with an arrow, would allow you to do a finisher.
Note - You can sit back in every battle where you have a crew (raids, main story, etc) and not move or attack and your crew will kill all attackers. I sat back numerous times, went to the bathroom, got a bite to eat or just day dreamed and the game went on without me. I didn't have to do a thing and even on the hardest combat settings, I never died (because Eijor was chilling on a roof or in the boat most times).
Now on to the bugs, glitches and performance. On the Xbox one, terrible performance. Numerous graphical issues, game shutdowns and poor textures. People walk through doors, two people became mashed together like conjoined twins. One character was shaking so violently I was belly laughing. It's another example of rush for cash and hope you don't notice these issues.
All in all, a 2 out of 5. Pass on this one.
