I don’t want to pile on with more negative comments, BUT, I do have lots of questions.
What happened to the man in the beginning that buried the surveyors?
Why was there a hermit out in the middle of nowhere and what happened to him?
Why did the woman shoot the man in his bed? Who was she?
Why were many dialogues hard to hear? (I have great hearing, but missed half of all conversations)
Why didn’t all characters have names?
Where did the rogue Indian hunters come from? That was confusing!
Not sure the word “indigenous” was used in the 1800’s.
At the wagon train site, what happened to the 2 native scouts up on the cliff?
Where was the wagon train headed?
What was the name of the Fort that they traveled to? Where was the Fort located?
How did they grow a crop on the plains?
Did the widow spend a week missing her dead husband? (Said with sarcasm)
Is the Lieutenant married or not?
How did Marigold end up at the cabin on the hill?
Big question….who is the guy Marigold was in the tent with and why did he force her to leave with him?
What the heck happened in the last 5 minutes of the movie? Did he run out of money and decided to throw scenes that had no connection with the rest of the movie out there?
I like Kevin Costner as an actor…but maybe ought to rethink writing a movie. There were 5 or 6 people in the theatre and 2 of them walked out early…We kept hoping it would start to gel, but unfortunately it never did. May wait for all of them to come out on Paramount. Losing Yellowstone was a high price to pay for this venture.
Hope I didn’t ruin it for those that plan to go see it. Just bring a notepad and keep notes to help you follow what is happening….
