Lacks a proper message, and the schlock value is akin to an 80s movie - think ‘The Fly’ and ‘The Thing’, both of which did it so much better. You could also have easily lopped 30 minutes from the running time and been doing something else useful instead. A resounding miss.

Terrific first-time direction from Cooper, and acting from both him and Germanotta. As others have said, I felt that the reasons for Cooper’s self-destructive streak could have been further explored, and the English manager was a cartoon figure. There is really only one decent track in the entire movie - but it’s an absolute corker. Despite my comments above, I loved ASIB.
