Fun watch for a Sunday afternoon! This movie is not to be taken seriously and think that the plot raises a lot of questions if you do. It’s a fun, improbable rom-com with two phenomenal actors- George Clooney and Julia Robert’s at their goofy and ridiculous best. A lot of laughs and a silly ending:) Good family watch, good Sunday watch.

This is a great book and an excellent movie. Sean Connery manages perfectly the role of William, just the right amount of egoism and grace. The young Christian Slater is also a phenomenal actor for this role as the apprentice. I was extremely impressed by the performance of Ron Perlman as well. It was a well cast and well made film. I would have liked more clarity in the plot. It is hard to follow the names (this is true even in the book) More importance could have been given to the debate between the two factions of monks who disagreed on the position of wealth and possessions of the church. This is actually a thrilling debate and could have been articulated better in the film. For this reason alone I would give it 4 stars. Otherwise 🤌🏼

Relatable, incredibly funny - couldn’t stop laughing at certain points. All the main cast are amazing. Loved Charlie’s character so much… so cute. Loved the whole story. Maybe the ending could have been written better but perhaps this is a more realistic ending than any other.
