Rocketry: the Nambi Effect is a wonderful film that raises several questions about our country as a true, functioning democracy. People with power, it seems, can cause immeasurable harm to individuals and set back the country's progress by decades. The media, rather than living up to its name as the fourth pillar of democracy, succumbs to the temptation to sensationalise and becomes a mere tool in the hands of those with power. People - both the general public and even organizations such as ISRO - seem to be mere pawns who are moved around by the media and the people in power. They neither seem to have the time to invest thought before swallowing a story nor do they have courage to stand up for what is right. Thanks to Madhavan, we have been exposed to a slice of history of our nation and have got to know a little about the great contribution of Nambi Narayanan. It is an episode that must not be forgotten lest history repeats itself pulling our country down and pushing our greatest minds to the edge of despair.
