Disappointed. I love the Gabriel Allon series - read the first 20 books - love the character development and stories but for some unknown reason, in this book, it feels like Silva seems to feel a need to discredit Christianity. His interpretations of the gospels, in my mind, are easily refutable. Climate change makes it into the story - all bad guys are “right wing” - and blaming the deaths on all Jews through the centuries on 9 words in the gospels - to say that’s a stretch is a vast understatement. Mr Silva seems not to understand that Christ came to this earth for the very purpose of dying on the cross. Christian’s don’t exterminate Jews because Jews crucified a fellow Jew - that’s exactly why Jesus came to earth in the 1st place.
Again, injecting left wing politics and discrediting Christianity - so disappointed Silva went down this path - his previous books were all excellent. This was a major disappointment.
