I was so enthused to watch this show as I am true Anne Rice fan. I have read the books more than twice. It’s hard to admit but I’m disappointed. Two VERY important characters were combined into one. Erasing almost a third of the book’s original plot. The scope of the Mayfair family’s power and wealth is diminished in this series. Lasher’s ethereal and inhuman traits are portrayed in a normal looking human man. If I had produced this show I would have created a seasonal arch in which Rowan would have met her mother at the end of the season creating a cliffhanger. I would have introduced maybe 2 or 3 of the first Mayfairs in flashback episodes. ( At least Marybeth and Charlotte) One episode dedicated to Michael.
