I haven't seen the movie and most likely won't now that I have read the plot synopsis. Going back to another reviewer's comment about the movie plot not following the book plots in the Jack Ryan series; this book, despite being set in the late 60's/early 70's, is very little about the geopolitical issue of the times, Vietnam, and much more about a man trying to balance his pursuit of justice against the crimes he is forced to commit in carrying out that justice. That is always a good story no matter the era.
