It was a sweet, quirky indie movie. Carol Kane as Carla Kessler, is luminous. The romance between Ben and Carol is believable and lovely. I interpreted the two temples of the title as the one that rejected Carol as a girl and the one that rejects her as a woman. In between these two rejections, she inspires and heals the faith and voice of the cantor Ben, who loves her as the embodiment of true Judaism.
