I recommend this drama, especially if there is a third season. It is worth it just to see Song Kang's acting. SPOILERS all over this review: In the opening, we see Sun Oh (played by Song Kang) pursue a girl, JoJo, that he knows his friend likes. (Nothing is explained about why either of them love her other than that she seems happy, which in reality she is not.) It may have been just a bit of teasing male competition or he may have just been testing her to see if she was good enough for his friend, but it was never explained as to why he did that. Is all his suffering just to make up for that? For taking away the girl that his best buddy loves? Maybe, but it is not explained. But don't forget that his buddy, Hye Yeon, silently loved and cared for Jojo while they worked in the restaurant and he NEVER said anything about his feelings (his fault) and she NEVER even paid any attention to him, not one spark ever was struck. This tells me that it was Hye Yeon's mistake for not making a move and Jojo's for not seeing him at all. I don't want Sun Oh to suffer so much. Because Song Kang is such a great actor, especially in these suffering roles, it is torturous to see what he goes through as a man in love with the woman who showed him kindness and his worth. I am not a fan of the female lead's acting (mostly all blank face or crying blank face). Song Kang brings the heart to this drama and I want his character to be truly happy. Because of his incredible acting and the imaginative and unusual storyline, I think that this is definitely worth watching. It may be a bit confusing, but so many matches are from the outside. I am praying for Season 3 so that the two leads get back together and Hye Yeon finds a more normal girl who will love him much more than JoJo does, with the passion that he deserves. This movie seems to want us to believe that passion is only lust and that real love doesn't have this. Or that Sun Oh and Jojo don't really love each other, because they hurt each other. I know that the writers probably wanted a third season, and I hope they get it, because in no way did either of them fully learn how to develop their love. The end still leaves Sun oh without his smile, with the implication that the suffering he has gone through will help his acting. Very true in real life, but then don't advertise this as a love story, which has a main pair overcoming odds to get together, when it is not developed as such. I would like the writers to fulfill their promise with a Season 3. While voters--who have been jerked around by the story so far (in one scene Sun oh calls Jojo heartless and rightfully so, since she did not explain ANYTHING about her feelings to him)--expectedly have frustrations, a third season would be the way to bring it home and produce many satisfied viewers who want the two leads to learn and grow and Hye Yeon to fall in love with a much better person than Jojo. Again, let me repeat, Song Kang is the true gold here. If you want to feel longing, vulnerability, joy, desire, desperation seek out his acting. "Nevertheless" is a similar role. In the future I hope he will get roles that show off his versatility focusing on other emotions. He is amazing!
