Odysseus Cyclops

Cockneys vs Zombies is actually a great family film, as long as you kids don't mind a bit of slapstick gore. I have a certain affinity with the film having East End connections and being an Irons (West Ham) fan.

Great first episode. Cross generational humour, with the gentleness of BBC classics. Many were worried it might be a politically correct feast, but it was nothing of the sort; it was a very well balanced combination of interaction between different characters.

Rewatching this with my 12 year old. He finds it hilarious and it's helping his listening skills, as you really need to tune in to the dialogue.

Watched it with my 12 year old, yes I know its a 15 Cert, but a really great cultural look back to a time that has now informed much of our recent positive change. My son even took the reference to Rodney King and connected it with the more recent killing of George Floyd. Clearly things still need to improve, but this film is educational and sets a great historic context out.

The best film I've seen for at least 10 years.
