I really had high expectations but despite my best efforts, I just didn't enjoy it. Pretentious, disjointed, hard work. Different for the sake of different? I don't abandon books often, but I've decided that at nearly fifty I can allow myself the luxury of just not liking something, even if it's "worthy"!
