As someone who hasn't watched the first movie, this second movie is not promising at all even to somebody who doesn't know the original plot. The fact that the plot itself is manipulated to benefit the lazy storywriting of the writers is just beyond me. After I read up on the first movie, I realised they completely and seemingly removed all of Megamind's character development and retconned everything to make once a deep character, with an interesting and heartwarming backstory, into a stereotypical kids' cartoon show hero, but worse, with little to no motive at all. That's not even mentioning the beyond-terrible animation quality for a 3D animated movie in 2024. Surprised that such a project was so underlooked by DreamWorks, and this sequel never should've come out as it makes future high-quality sequels for the Megamind movie even more difficult.
