I enjoy the show very much…Today, Whoopi addressed the ‘small lettering’ on things and being a 74 year old, I felt her pain and frustration.
I would absolutely LOVE it if Whoopi and the other hosts would express their thoughts on the annoying and in my view, the very unnecessary ‘background music’ in tv shows and movies these days. The music is non stop and very often drowns out the dialogue, it’s very disruptive and what is the point of the music anyway? When my husband and I are in the kitchen talking, no music! For the longest time I thought it was just bothering us but recently I have heard others complain…What is the purpose of loud background music while the characters are speaking? The Andy Griffith show didn’t have background music unless Andy and Opie were headed down the road to go fishin’…that was cute and you’ll notice, Andy and Opie weren’t talking at the time.
Oh, another annoying thing these days, besides me that is…what’s with the almost non existent lighting in movies now…sometimes you can barely see the faces of the characters eg. The Boston Strangler.
I hope you can shed some light (pun intended) on the extreme background music and poor lighting in tv shows and movies…if you do bring this up on the show, oh and I hope you do, I’ll be watching.
