I grew up in the church, and I read the book a couple years ago. The book is amazing and worth a read, very timeline based and surprisingly unbiased. The show is a little more emotion focused but it deals with big stuff and for the time and the area, it’s pretty accurate for both the LDS community and the fundamentalists. There will be a lot of negative reviews from current members. Don’t judge the show off of that, they are in denial and warned against their own history as anti-Mormon literature, so this will be very difficult to them. However, history is history. The CES Letter should be made into a documentary now. That would get much more negative reviews from the same people who haven’t watched or only started like many of the negative reviews you see for this show.
