Bride of the Forest: The Untold Story of Yayati's Daughter is an extremely fun, intricately woven story, based on an untold sequence from the Mahabharat. It is so well-researched and yet easy-to-read that flows like one smooth scene happening right in front of you. Even though its set in a land, many eons ago - where people could be brought back to life, just using their superhuman powers., going one chapter to the next, you can relate more and more with the characters and themes of the book - a very strong reflection of the modern world today. Each character is a stronghold, and their virtues in the story take you through the journey of understanding their misery, joy, spite, humour and somehow examining your own moral compass . Thoroughly loved reading the book, and hated that it had to finish!

Absolutely loved the film. For someone who has grown up watching Suriya, this feels like a career high for him. Sudha Kongara vibe of direction is quite obvious in the film, the transition between scenes, the very powerful characters, the extremely realistic portrayals and scenes. The cast, right down to all the side artists , including people who had one or two dialogues - like the old man who donated 500Rs for the business - were so authentic and memorable. And ofcourse, GV Prakash music was just unique and couldn’t have been done better for this film that combined rustic and modern elements.
