Racism, Gender Bias and other forms of discrimination continue to permeate our society today reinforced by false information and ignorance. A great deal of that discrimination has an intended purpose, to subordinate one person or one group of people for gain to the discriminator.
One only needs to look within to determine our own discriminatory biases.
Having taught human rights and awareness workshops it is easy to bring up the humorous ones at first before touching on the more sensitive ones. It's only a matter of degree.
Look within and work towards eliminating your own generalizations.
One bias at a time.
P.s. I'm a white, 75 year old heterosexual male of English descent who is divorced and hasn't seen his cildren in 27 years. If you are different, what biases come to mind towards me?
