A very funny, fun and silly movie! I initially passed on watching it because it got bad reviews, but then I noticed the animosity towards this movie. Why is it Jerry Seinfeld's movies are legendary for being terrible when he is such a talented and highly respected comedian? I had to see what it was the got people so upset. I was pleasantly surprised and laughed more than I have at a movie in a long time. Don't believe the reviews, make your own opinion. I will probably watch this again at some point. I may actually go and watch bee movie now too.

It was an acceptable remake until the ending. The biggest sin they could commit is to change the main story of the original, which they did. They did well to bring the characters and world to today's graphic standards. Developing characters through untold stories was a fun way to further explore the world and grow on the original masterpiece. However, I feel like they made this game knowing full well they will never reach the ending of the original story. (Spoilers from here on) The "whispers" ruined the game for me. These fate ghosts served as a vehicle to introduce and forcefeed Sephiroth to the audience before the original story did. This ultimately changed the story by intruding constantly with these ghosts in the main storyline and into the ending of the game. The original reveal of Sephiroth was one of the great moments of the original in its subtlety in that the audience only hears whispers of his name until what should have been after the events of this remake. Instead they interjected a convoluted anime mess of fighting fate and spectacle battles that rivaled the madness of Kingdom Hearts all in order to have Cloud fight Sephiroth in this remake in a way that is not earned until the ending of the original. This could have been great, instead we have a FF7 fanfiction that will never get the chance to tell it's full story.
