Every time my daughter asks to read this book I groan. It's awful. There is no story, it comes across like a series of sentimental Instagram posts for the type of daily mail reading people who think the John Lewis ads are a highlight of Christmas. Which in fact it is - you can see the authors Instagram page and each page of the book makes more sense as a single Instagram post with caption. It is full of phrases which might sound nice (to an idiot) but are meaningless. "Nothing beats kindness,' said the horse. 'It sits quietly beyond all things." What is this. And people think this is good writing. Honestly, I hate it Giving it two stars rather than one for the excellent artwork
