The best “period piece with modern twist” I’ve seen in ages. We enjoy a classic historical drama, but decided to give this a go and in the first 20 minutes, were unsure how we felt. After the first episode, we were drawn in and as the show went on, it just got better. Just do yourself a favor and watch. Great writing, acting far beyond what I expected, and the plot was always both entertaining and unpredictable. Growing up, I’d seen many movies with Thomas Sangster (shoutout Nanny McPhee) but was so happily surprised to see the current quality of his acting. Loved the balance of seriousness to humor that this show struck. We just finished it, but it seems the ending is perfectly set up for a continuation…please, we need season two!!
