We were pretty avid watchers of the Daily Show where it usually consisted of quick blurbs about several issues occurring at the time, but we always felt that some of Jon Stewart's best moments were when he was deep diving into issues. The Daily Show was where many in my generation actually went to help inform their perspective of current events. Whether that's good or not, one of the reasons for that is that Stewart has a way of boiling down issues to be understood by anyone and in a way that was consumable. When I saw that Jon Stewart had a new show, I instantly subscribed to Apple TV to see what it was about. It's funny at times yet it deep dives into the issues, in a serious way, that leaves out all the noise. For example, the first episode discussing the impacts of burn pits on veterans was eye-opening, yet it did such a good job explaining the problem in a way that anyone could understand along with the impacts of the issue on real people. In other words, while the Daily Show was great at short perspectives, this show is the best of the Daily Show with more of what made that show so good. The Daily Show was more than just comedic commentary, it addressed real issues and did so using...well...common sense. This show, The Problem (w/ Jon Stewart) does that in a way that only Jon Stewart could pull off (sorry Trevor Noah)...and still remains extremely informative on some of the issues that generally aren't "appealing" enough for cable and mainstream news -- who have become increasingly more and more about shock value and Fox News-like commentary than actual objectivity and comprehensiveness. This show is about substance. For people looking for compelling and informative commentary beyond the junk seen on cable news and want to watch it in a way that's engaging, watch this show.
