Obviously inspired by true events, not a true story. But the sacrifice of history for drama is necessary. Very enjoyable. I do think it was financed by cigarette manufacturers because everyone smokes incessantly. Granted, that wasn't unusual in those days, but I did notice the last two episodes toned it down a bit.

Terrific. Historically accurate, although simplified. CGI outstanding. No dumb subplots, unlike the last Midway movie. Just a telling of what happened which, considering how dramatic the events were, is more than enough. Go see it with your more mature kids. It may be the only history lesson favorable to the US your children will get.
