Kaante is a sensation. I can't imagine how director Sanjay Gupta picturized and materialized the original underworld flavor of Mumbai so perfectly!! Every actor acted his very best, especially Mahesh Manjurekar, Amitabh Bachhan and obviously the one and only Sanjay Dutt. Epic dialogues, the most relevant songs as per the scenarios and the cinematography was above par. There is a certain X-factor in this movie just because of Mahesh Manjurekar's fantabulous and intelligent acting, Amitabh Bachhan's wise and sensible roleplay as major and Sanjay Dutt's cult personality and appearance. The song Chhodna re is one of the best chorus songs of bollywood till date!!! The comedy scenes were very very sensible. The role of 'Makwari' was a result of the superb comedy sense of Sanjay Gupta. However, the ending could have been more dramatic. It was a little bit boring and unrealistic when it ended through the murder of everyone. Kumar Gaurav was average and not more than that. Amitabh Bachhan's powerful acting in an uncommon role like Major was an absolute enjoy to watch.
