Without being too nuanced, I'll say that i find this film less along the lines of 'Thelma and Louise' or 'Bonnie and Clyde' (seems to be lazily simplifying), but more along the lines of a classic slave 'rebellion' and their subsequent escape. Profound on a myriad of levels.
