One of the best movies I've seen in a very long time. The direction is excellent, utilizing a technique over ninety years old, taking us back to the days of the silent movies. It demonstrates the need for adaptation to new ways of doing things; the refusal to evolve and to abandon the past out of misplaced pride is graphically shown. The acting is first rate, with the female lead by Miss Bejo nothing short of sensational. And what a refreshing change with practically no dialogue and a script devoid of the all-too-fashionable four-letter words. Finally, the unlikely star of the show? The dog! The Oscars received by this film were most deserved. Recommended without hesitation .
