I feel like I had a stroke while watching this movie. Everything about it was so strange and stilted. The script, the constant flashbacks, the terrible TERRIBLE pacing, most of the acting....... it feels like a film from another dimension that simply was not created for the consumption of this dimension. I cannot comprehend it. I haven’t even mentioned how much of a terrible couple the main characters are. They are blatantly toxic and sickening to watch and it seems like everyone in the film acknowledges that and yet they are still romanticized. Anyway I didn’t have high expectations (or any expectations) so I wasn’t disappointed and it was actually really funny to see how bad and weird it could possibly get. Also need to mention that the secondary characters are some of the most one dimensional, basic characters I have ever seen. They’re all either evil or nice. There are so many odd dropped plot lines as well. The entire phone call with the mom really felt like a hallucination and it was so uncomfortable. It made absolutely no sense. But then again this film in general made no sense. I kind of hope they make a third film just to break up the main couple and KEEP THEM BROKEN UP BECAUSE THEY ARE TERRIBLE TOGETHER, and their whole relationship is a terrible message for the film’s generally young audience. Also I hate that a main theme in this film is that you have to forgive people that treated you awfully because , according to the film, ‘you’re really just hurting yourself.’ this is a very disgusting mindset that manipulates people into thinking they are at fault for the traumas they have. don’t push forgiveness on people 😌 because if they want to forgive they will 😏 and if not they will not 😌

Insecure billionaires take turns bullying humanitarian. A lot of the dialogue was clearly written to seem cool and meaningful but it falls flat and is very awkward. The film raises some interesting questions but fails to follow through on its intended message. It feels like it is trying too hard to appear intelligent and completely fails at pacing and coherence. It looks pretty goofy at times and it definitely sounds goofy and unnatural when characters communicate. Score is amazing though.

who watched this and thought it was a good idea to release it to the world?

This movie was so shockingly bad. It goes absolutely nowhere. Waste of time.

Short and full of heart. You can probably guess how this movie will end and yet you will put yourself through the ringer anyway. A beautiful story that never gets boring and doesn't pull back from its narrative. Never a dull moment, never a tedious image, everything about this movie is wonderful. Though one plot point (that I won't spoil) bugs me constantly, it was necessary for the story's existence so I'll forgive it. I'd rate it a 4.5 so I'll round up to a 5.

Proof that inserting the f- bomb into dialogue every 10 seconds does not equal good writing. Lots of cranberry juice- looking blood. None of that is as bad as the fact that there is little character development at all and in the end, you don't really care about a single character in this film. David Harbour is great in the role but he had a terrible script to work with.

No discernible story here. Its slow, boring, and moody. The plot has no real meaning, though it keeps you believing that there is one till the very end. It tries to be scary sometimes, but its ambiguity does not aid this goal at all. I genuinely almost fell asleep during this film.

What can I say that hasn't been said? This movie is an absolute masterpiece. Its entertaining, heartfelt, humorous, well- paced, witty, and absolutely beautiful. The soundtrack is perfect. One of Disney's best movies to date.

While the premise was interesting, the movie itself fell flat. We all know the story of Superman- the first half of this film revisits that same origin story, albeit in a much darker and foreboding tone. The second half picks up the pace and doles out several extremely gory scenes (which sometimes felt excessive). As a horror film, it isn't really scary. It fulfills its purpose, however. What if Superman decided that being a hero wasn't for him? Interestingly enough, our main character does not have an extremely harsh or sad upbringing. His family very closely resembles that of Clark Kent. Why, do we ask, does he turn evil? I thought it was some weird alien instinct that seemed to kick in + his rage towards certain people and events that fuel his evil. In the end, all we really know is that Brandon Breyer is very murderous. Lots of bloodshed and really no hope at the end of this film. Actually, the only things we're left with are some references to characters that resemble Aquaman and Wonder Woman (evil versions, of course) and hope for a sequel? This review is a mess, but this movie kind of was too.

I NEVER thought to watch this movie until someone recommended it to me as a must- see. Thinking that it'd at least be funny, I decided to give it a try. Turns out it was much more than what I'd hoped for. While it has its flaws (aka I hate Mr. Darcy but that's not the movie's fault) it has many redeeming qualities including respect for the source material and many well- choreographed fight scenes. Its a fun movie and doesn't take itself too seriously. While you may have previously chosen to ignore it, now may be the time to watch this overshadowed film; even if just for laugh.
