As a classic, the book creates an imagery of the what it was I like in the time of the Great Depression and how everyone in that time believed in the American dream. You build fond emotions towards the characters. The plot is very straight forward and understandable. Each character has a profile which sets them aside from the others. This is truly the explanation of trust, hardship and loyalty. This book during GCSEs helped a really lot with understanding Point, Evidence and Explanation. I highly recommend this book as it gives warmth from the setting and drama from the characters.
