"A town like Alice" is the most remarkable film I have had the privilege to see with the superb acting by Virginia McKenna who is able to impart to the viewer a multitude of emotions with a simple expression of empathy.I first watched the film at the age of 15 years in Palmerston North New Zealand and now at the age of 78 years I am still emotionally effected.

An actress with the greatest of talent.Able to become the person she is to portray with amazing empathy for other people, which obviously,ultimately manifested itself with animals. An actress the likes of which we are unlikely to see again.
